London calling

I must be agood boy, well respected by the airline company. Because guess whose bag was the first to turn up at Heathrow yesterday. Must be a reward for all my visits to this beautiful city.

Had lunch at Kentucky Fried Chicken yesterday, an institution which is sadly missed in Sweden. By all means junk food, but very tasty junk food. Especially the chicken bits, covered in the Colonel's special whatever it is.  But somehow it seem apropriate that KFC also sell The Sun. A junk newspaper to go together with the junk food.

The Islington Folk Club was sold out yesterday evening. A great success for The New Deal String Band, who played two nice sets. Thank you Tom, Ben and Joe for a joyful evening.  And thank you Tom for lending me your wonderful guitar, and the compere for letting med performing twice, one tune in each half.

We have no proper educational computer show in Sweden. Maybe that is why som many Swedes travel to BETT. We heard Swidish spoken everywhere, and someone claimed there are more than 4 000 Swedish teachers attending this year. With free entrance and free seminars there could be more.

The Churchill Arms in Kensington Chruch Street, close to Notting Hill Gate, is a nice pub. Old pub atmosphere and Fuller's beers. I counted to five ales, one porter, three lagers and one cider, all draught. What a selection. I had a pint of Chiswick Bitter, since you can't get that in Sweden.
Talking of ales, the Aharpe's Cornish the serve draught at The Horseshoe (home of Islington FC) is a real treat. I have not seen it anywhere but at the Horseshoe.

Spent a fortune on DVDs yesterday. But all got the first three series of Lewis, Lark Rise complete, Little Britain complete and the new Martin Simpson concert DVD. Still looking for a boxed set with Absolutely Fabulous though, and have found, but not bought, the complete Jeeves & Wooster. A lack of desirable CDs though.
